Safely Correct an Iron Deficiency with an Iron IV Infusion

Written By The New You Medical and Infusion Clinic on August 9, 2021

Iron IV infusionIron plays a more critical role in your overall health and wellbeing. When your body doesn’t get enough iron, it can lead to anemia, extreme fatigue, frequent infections, pale skin, swollen tongue, hair loss and more.

Taking an iron supplement in pill form isn’t ideal due to its low absorption and bioavailability. Iron IV nutrition therapy, however, is 100% absorbed and affords many potential benefits for those with iron deficiencies, including:

  • Increased hemoglobin
  • Reduction in fatigue due to improved sleep
  • Improved muscle strength
  • Strengthened immune system

This therapy is usually utilized to help with deficiency anemia. It’s not always easy to get enough iron in your diet or your gut doesn’t adequately absorb iron either via diet or dietary supplement.

Since it’s important to make sure you don’t get too much iron, we carefully monitor you throughout treatment, including for any heart rhythm irregularities or changes in skin tone. We want to keep you perfectly safe and to experience the health benefits of an iron IV infusion.

This therapy is shown to be safe for pregnant women at least during the second and third trimesters. It’s not yet known if this infusion is safe during the first trimester. Carrying a developing fetus creates a need for more iron. Iron pills often upset the mother’s stomach, making IV therapy much easier and more beneficial.
